Qualifications

A community organizer may not make many "executive decisions" as defined by the mayor of a small town, but a community organizer does have to get people who may have diametrically opposed views pull together in the same direction to achieve a goal. So I think you can safely say that "bipartisanship" skills are strongly a part of any successful community organizer's skill sets.

One thing you don't get to do as a community organizer is drop a termination letter on the desk of somebody who disagrees with you when they are out, which when you think about it is really a pretty chickens... way to fire somebody besides.

Cowardice

Talking Points Memo has a summary of reasons why the Republican candidates are bailing on the You-Tube format debate on CNN that did so well for the Democrats:

All of them boil down to the post heading. Even their excuses reek of cowardice. If they can't face their own constituents, how do you expect them to face Al-Qaeda/Iraq/Iran/Pakistan/North Korea or any domestic hard question. Oh, yeah, that's right, you don't face your enemies, you just point the gun and pull the trigger.... Doesn't work so well with Social Security, does it? Might be a clue there.

Maybe we can humiliate them into participation in Democracy? Call them chicken publicly? We know John McCain is no coward. ;o) Romney, Giuliani, Thompson....buck, buck, buck, bucckahhk!
